AGE Puzzle of the Month - January

Ben Dodd has a question for you. Can you handle temptation? Or will you succumb to it just like so many before you. We asked for a difficult one to kick off what will be a recurring feature on AGE Premium. You can look forward to a new brain teaser each and every month, but you'd best get cracking on this one before you think about anything in the future. "Temptation" will require all of your FAB skills, but we think you're up to the task.

Unfortunately, you can't pitch Arknight Shard for Arcanic Crackle and have the Runechant trigger on attack. Doesn't work that way. Try again...

SOLUTION:

1. Defend with Belittle, Spellbound Creepers, and Sigil (paid for by pitching Arknight Shard through the Frostbite): Jarl goes to 5 and you make a Runechant. You get hit by Anothos and get a Frostbite
2. You get hit by Anothos and get a Frostbite. In the damage step (before the chain closes), activate Spellbound creepers with the two floating from Arknight Shard to clear the Frostbite.
3. On your turn, play Arcanic Crackle, thereby placing a Viserai trigger and the Runechant trigger on the stack. The Runechant resolves first and you have dealt arcane damage this turn: Jarl is down to 4.
4. BEFORE the Viserai trigger resolves, play Succumb to Temptation at instant speed to gain an action point and create a Runechant from the Viserai trigger. Arcanic Crackle resolves and deals one arcane damage before being blocked out: Jarl is down to 3.
5. With the remain action point and Runechant token, activate Fyendal's Spring Tunic to gain one resource and use it to attack with Rosetta Thorn. The Runechant token pops: Jarl is down to 2. Rosetta Thorn's on-attack trigger deals two arcane damage: Jarl is DEAD
