It's the first of the month, which means it's time for Ben Dodd to put your brain in knots and, well, pox. It's up to you to wade through the pus and see if you can steal this game right out from underneath dearly-departed Verdance, Thorn of the Rose. Good luck and be sure to read your cards

Don't forget that Slippy has already given a Stealth attack Go Again this turn. Kiss of Death already ate your hero power. No double dips!

Don't forget that Snag's effect lasts the whole turn. Your second Infect won't get a buff from Just a Nick as long as Verdance has resolved Snag. In fact, let's just say that you don't get there if Verdance is allowed to draw Snag at all. Try again, and keep that card away from her.

Hang on, you can choose different targets for each mode on Just a Nick? Fancy that.

Solution
- Play Just a Nick targeting your active Infect with both modes. Opponent attempts to respond with Sink Below in order to cycle Gorganian Tome away in favor of the Snag on top of the deck. You must target your first Infect with both modes to force Verdance to attempt to Sink. Otherwise, she has a line where she waits either for your second Infect or until after you activate Flick Knives to play Sink Below. This way, she cannot wait because your first Infect would banish Snag on hit.
- Before the Sink Below trigger, you respond with the second Just a Nick (this time targeting Infect with the buff and your Kiss of Death with the other mode).
- After your second Just a Nick resolves (and while Sink Below is still on the stack) you activate Flick Knives to flick Kiss of Death at Verdance. It connects, brings Verdance down to 12 life and banishes that pesky Snag before Verdance is able to draw it with Sink Below. You also activate Stalker's Steps to give Infect Go Again.
- Verdance's final blocks are 4 on 11. She takes 7 damage, descends to 5 life, and is the proud new owner of a Bloodrot Pox token.
- With the action point gained by Stalker's Steps, you send your second Infect for 1. Verdance has no more blocking cards so she is forced to take 1 and another Bloodrot Pox. Verdance is now at 4 life.
- You pass the turn back to Verdance and has no pitchable cards, so she takes exactly 4 (from two instances of Bloodrot Pox), goes down to 0 life, and admits defeat.
- You pat yourself on the back and run to your friends to laugh about how you just ran into a Verdance running Gorganian Tome
